Hunger For The Holy Spirit

I have never found anything more comforting than the unction of the Holy Spirit. He met with us today at Grace Church and our hearts did burn within us as the waves of the Spirit ebbed and flowed throughout the room. After four services at the Humble campus I left the sanctuary near two o’clock in the afternoon and there were still people praying for power from God.

With all of my search for the best plans to build a church, with all the great illustrations and teaching points, with all the necessary and great strategies to accompany the preached word, I have found nothing that can do what the manifestation of the Holy Spirit can accomplish. Stone-cold hearts are melted in His presence. Deep bitterness is escorted to the door and released. The balance of the profane and the holy is tipped in God’s favor with the advent of the Holy Spirit in my life.

I have tasted the holy today…and I think I am hungrier now than when I began.

  1. Thank you for inspiring thousands of people each week to pursue the passion found in the Holy Spirit. From member to pastor: I thank you! From mentee to pastoral mentor: Thank You!
From friend to friend: Thank You!

  2. Pastor Brett……. 3rd service was wonderful. God's presence ever so present. I shed so many tears broken broken broken. It is through that brokeness that I too hunger for much more. While the Spirit was moving in service I heard the Lord say to Grace " The Best is Yet To Come……..
While today the church isn't where it should be and is still inundated with Churchianity, what the Father is about to do could be appropriately entitled " The Best Is Yet To Come"! This is a foretold in Isaiah 60:1-7- " Arise, shine; for your light has come and the Glory of the Lord has risen upon you, For behold, darness will cover the earth, and deep darkness the peoples; but the Lord will rise upon you, and His Glory will appear upon you. And nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes round about, and see; they all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from afar, and your daughters will be carried in the arms. Then you will see and be radiant, and your heart will thrill and rejoice; because the abudance of the sea will be turned to you, the wealth of the nations will come to you."

  3. Haven't heard or seen the word "unction" used in 20+ years-Ravenhill demanded it in his writings; love the term, love the concept-thank God for His holy unction. I've been hearing you preach and teach off and on for almost 30 yrs now-your Daddy would be proud, I know your heavenly Father is. Blessings Bro Jones

  4. Our hearts cry out for more…more…more. More filling, more repentence. I believe the Father was so very proud of Grace Church, for taking a stand several weeks ago regarding being open about and teaching the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I felt Jesus giving a standing ovation for Grace having the courage to be strong and courageous where so many non-denominational, charismatic-type churches have fallen away today. Dear God, bless our pastor for his boldness, faithfulness, and courage. Breathe on us God, blow on us with the wind of your precious Holy Spirit. Consume our hearts – give us more Holy Ghost encounters with you as a body, and let us take it home to our families, our children, our neighbors. Let us take your Baptism anointing to our workplace. Let us have more services where you show up, and we just worship…crying out to you, falling on our faces, repenting of our sins. Where nothing planned happens. Let the people lose their sense of pride, sense of self, and get lost in YOU.
